At this moment in our nation’s history, there is an unprecedented need for interreligious education and engagement around Islam. This three-part speaker series concludes with Combating Islamophobia. Corey Saylor will examine ongoing efforts to mobilize against the American Islamophobia Industry, a network of well-funded groups set up to promote prejudice against or hatred of Islam and Muslims. Who are these groups, and what is their impact? Saylor will discuss national strategies for confronting Islamophobia: the challenges and opportunities of alliance-building, how the law can support and deter the work of advocacy and organizing, and how individuals can make a difference.
