Amazon is launching a television advertisement in which two friends, an imam and a vicar, exchange gifts. The company, which is launching the campaign in the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany, says the add is about “selflessness and thinking of other people.” Amazon is aware of the potential sensitivities of portraying interfaith friendship between religious leaders, but according to Simon Morris, director of advertising at Amazon, “We think it is an authentic and charming story.”
