Interfaith Lecture Series Discusses the Importance and History of Immigration

The Peace and International Issues Committee of the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee hosted a luncheon lectures series on March 5 at the First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee centered on the theme of immigration and the contribution and importance of immigrants to the city of Milwaukee. Interfaith Dialogue and Religious Literacy Drive Campus Activism

The University of Wisconsin's Center for Religion and Global Citizenry is leading the charge of activism on the campus, centered on interfaith dialogue and religious literacy. The group has protested changes to the campus's dining policy, which would have proven unduly burdensome to Jewish and Muslim students with religious dietary restrictions and has spoken out against Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism. Interfaith Engagement on Campus

A new initiative at the University of Washington aims to show students all they have in common across lines of faith. The event, called One of Many, brought students together to discuss life experiences and experiences with faith. While the event did not draw hard conclusions about how to best foster an open interfaith environment, the participants came away feeling more connected to one another, with one participant saying, "I've never felt more connected to my friends."
