Mission and Values
The mission of the Cordoba House Sunday School is to build a uniquely inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that is both authentically Islamic and relevant to modern day American life.
Our aim is to equip our students with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic beliefs and practices through cultivating a personal relationship with Islam based on the love of God, His Prophets, His scriptures and His angels.
Background and History
Cordoba House Sunday School is a program of Cordoba House that provides in person Sunday School in Islamic education and Quran Recitation for children and teens aged between 5 to 18 years.
The program was launched in New York City in October 2015. Our classes are held in Tribeca, Manhattan on Sundays. We are currently working on expanding our services to provide online private sessions on Quran Recitation.
We provide students with a brand new curriculum accompanied by cutting edge age appropriate that is relevant to the needs of American children and teens. These lessons are tailored to provide our students a strong foundation of Islam and the Quran that will inspire and inform them for the rest of their lives.
We are also developing a Teenage Halaqa sessions where important issues will be discussed. We are calling on teenagers aged between 14 – 18 to help us with their thoughts and input.
