Building Cultural Proficiency
Twenty-six Buchanan County, Missouri community members went through cultural proficiency training hosted by Interfaith Alliance for Immigrants at Mosaic Life Care. The seminar, aimed at preventing racial profiling, was led by the Rev. Kirk Perucca of Covenant Presbyterian Church — a congregation that is proud of its diversity.
Muslims in Brooklyn
At one time, there was next to nothing about Muslims in the archives of the Brooklyn Historical Society, but that has changed thanks to the work of historians, who have collected oral histories from 54 Brooklyn Muslims.
